Artist Statement:

My art is about more than just my favorite characters. I rarely recreated scenes from movies or games, usually, I made entire new sequences that built up to very specific scenes, and that would be what I'd draw. In my mind, there is an entire universe where these characters exist and interact with each other. The drawings I’ve made of those characters are just one frame of an entire story I witnessed in their world.

bio

Josiah (Pneuma) Blickhahn, from Pueblo Colorado is growing artist who started with a fascination with popular video game franchise Sonic the Hedgehog and a cheap pack of colored pencils. As he grew up he came across the franchise Super Smash Bros. and was introduced to multiple characters from a multitude of games. Such as; Samus Aran from the video game series Metroid, and Shulk from the game series Xenoblade Chronicles. These two science fiction titles inspired him to start adding more engineering, science, and emotion to his artwork. His pieces grew more complex as he begun to add more detail and play with light and shadow. As his work grew more complex, so too did his pencil set. He joined the Steel City Art Gallery in 2019 and at that point just started playing around with digital drawing software. He is an artist for Elysian Evrimata and his current project is a video game for Elysian Evrimata.

Graduated from Pueblo Community College in 2021 with his associates in mass communication, he is now working on his bachelors in gaming and immersive media at Colorado State University Pueblo.

I chose this one because we have trials we face in our day to day lives and my life is no exception. Especially while I'm still paying to go to college.

I'd like to think that I've been strong for being able to still stand after everything I've been through.

I've had to deal with tough decisions, situations and people. Still... I'm standing here. Continuing to try and make the most of everything.

Lost In Thoguhts All Alone - Fire Emblem: Fates

Sorry for the poor quality, Nintendo refuses to make their songs available anywhere. Plus, this was probably ripped strait from the 3DS, so the sound quality is eh.

This song is practically my anthem, even to this day. The game's stories is about making choices, choosing sides, and suffuring/benefiting the consequences of those choices. At the same time, this song is also about the person singing it, Azura. Because it takes both of those perspectives, the listener can relate with both perspectives.

Try not to cry challenge, start.

This song almost forces you to look back on the journey that brought you to where you stand now. The people you met, the ones you lost. The battles you've faught, and won or lost. The choices made that either worked or didn't.

It helps remind me that the future is ours to make. We will make mistakes, and we will find that this world is more complicated than thought. But it's our world, and we have to shape it's future to what we want it to be.
